Imagine you could change market forces so that ONE comics character who has either NEVER had a series of their own, or who has had unsuccessful series in the past, could have a great, ongoing title.

Whom would you choose, and what would be your dream creative team for that person’s book?

Remember, we’re talking about characters who have, as yet, not been able to hold their own book, in terms of sales (or have never even had the chance).

Who do you pick?

Bulleteer.

Though it may be cheating since she had her own 4 issue series written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Yannick Paquette. Then again, it was only 4 issues and part of the larger Seven Soldiers of Victory maxiseries. She hasn’t really been used since then at DC other than small stuff in 52 and Infinite Crisis, and that feels like ages ago!

I still thought the story was pure brilliance and it had a really fresh approach to the superhero genre, science fiction, fandom, and a host of other things.

It was unlike anything I’d read before OR SINCE.

Her world was just so well developed and though she existed in the main DC Universe, it didn’t quite feel like one with Superman and Batman running around. To me, it felt closer to an updated Watchmen DC Universe.

Even Bulleteer’s antagonist in the miniseries, Sally Sonic, had a FANTASTIC backstory and I’d read a comic about her, too (even though she was killed off at the conclusion of SS0V).

So yeah, I’d LOVE to see an ongoing series with the original creative team of Morrison and Paquette.

Or a Zatanna series under Vertigo. Can’t think of a creative team at the moment, though JH Williams or Brian Bolland on art would be fantastic. Also if Garth Ennis or Steve Niles wrote it that’d be cool.
